This 257 year-old silver token "could" still be valid for free access to every performance in the Bristol Old Vic... but only if the theatre “chooses" to honour it (which it says it will).
An NFT that says I own something doesn’t guarantee possession any more than a line in a database does. Ultimately all these technologies — NFTs, SQL, or silver — will always rely on humans honoring them.
