This article illustrates why I don't think NFTs ever have any inherent value.
This 257 year-old silver token "could" still be valid for free access to every performance in the Bristol Old Vic... but only if the theatre “chooses" to honour it (which it says it will).
An NFT that says I own something doesn’t guarantee possession any more than a line in a database does. Ultimately all these technologies — NFTs, SQL, or silver — will always rely on humans honoring them.

Noticing a worrying trend when hiring for a Junior Developer role: recent grads are almost always weaker applicants than those who have no degree but are learning online (for our purposes at least).
It’s getting to the point where instead of a badge of honour, a CS degree is a signal that you’ve spent three years learning Java and don’t have a clue about working with modern web tech stacks, but have high salary expectations nonetheless.
Anyone else seeing this?

Prediction: if Apple Vision is still a product in 10 years, the “eyesight” feature will have quietly been discarded the same way Apple Watch’s “intimate connection” features were once they realised people cared way more about the fitness tracking.

Kinda wish Mastodon had "reactions" to posts... find myself resorting to stars as a generic acknowledgement, when I'd much rather give someone a 👍 / 😂 / ❤️
The beauty of Mastodon’s lack of algorithm is that I don’t need to second-guess what effect those reactions might have on a post's reach... it's purely a way to give some feedback to the original poster
