Just got a YouTube ad that was clearly an AI-generated scam… which further reinforces my suspicion that YouTube sees ads as a means of torturing you into upgrading to remove them.
In 3 years, every YouTube ad will just be 30 seconds of fingernails scratching a blackboard and a big flashing “Upgrade to remove ads” button

Feel like a lot of the ideas in this talk are applicable to product design in general, not just games

I would pay good money for an AI that scans my emails for phrases like “just bumping this to the top of your inbox” and “if you’d like me to stop sending you emails just let me know”, sent from addresses whom I have never emailed… and then adds those addresses to a thousand mailing lists.
