I’m increasingly convinced that optimising for search engines — or any algorithm, really — is a wild goose chase.
It worked when Google were simply focused on providing the most relevant results for any particular query. It doesn’t work when they’re just showing whatever gets them the most ad clicks.
Thankfully the alternative — optimising for humans/word of mouth — still works just fine.
