  1. How the mighty have fallen

  2. 12 years ago I had a random idea for a restaurant menu app. As was the custom, I threw together a basic landing page with a mockup and an email field. Got featured in a couple of publications that didn’t do their research properly and got a couple of hundred signups, which I never did anything with.

I mostly forgot about it since, but kept the URL live out of nostalgia. This morning I got a GoDaddy email saying it was up for renewal. I went to the URL and… it now links to a page selling viagra?

How is that possible? I think domain was pointed at a MediaTemple hosted page… and presumably GoDaddy doesn’t let just anyone log into my account and redirect it?

  3. Mastodon’s non-algorithmic feed is its killer feature. I never want to go back.

  4. Interesting critique of the pictograms for Paris 2024 Olympics.

  8. It’s kinda uncanny watching Canon trying to do the Apple thing here… but from what looks like a 90s office lobby

“See any issues with us announcing a cutting edge new product with a backdrop that says History of Canon Cameras”

    “Nope.”

“How about the big red fire alarm on the wall, should we cover that with a plant or something?”

“Nah keep it; it matches her trousers and keeps the audience wondering if it might go off any second”

  9. Anytime I hear someone speaking German my brain now assumes they’re rapping the Barbara’s Rhubarb Bar song and I have to fight the urge to join in
